Nationwide Board for Wildlife – a panel that takes choices on initiatives in areas close to wildlife protected zones – has given its approval to 13 defence and paramilitary initiatives, most in Ladakh and one in Arunachal Pradesh. Clearances have been given on situations of following environmental safeguards and mitigation plans to guard Himalayan ecosystems. The initiatives embody new border outposts, a brigade headquarters, ammunition storage and coaching amenities, and bridge work.
