The Supreme Courtroom on Monday took suo motu cognisance of a media report about incidents of canine bites resulting in rabies.
A bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan termed the information merchandise revealed right this moment in an English every day's Delhi version as “very disturbing and alarming”.
“The information merchandise comprises some alarming and disturbing figures and details,” the bench stated.
It stated every single day, a whole lot of canine bites had been being reported within the metropolis and on its outskirts, resulting in rabies and finally, youngsters and the aged had been falling prey to the dreadful illness.
“We take suo motu cognisance of this information merchandise,” the bench stated.
“Let this order be positioned together with the information report earlier than the Chief Justice of India for acceptable orders,” it stated.
