A man who's simply Mr. Vibrant Facet, having issues by no means go his means, and what that appears like.”
Buckley performs chronically optimistic weatherman Ted Cooper within the new rom-com premiering on Saturday, October 25. Ted is understood for his hilarious mishaps at Christmastime, which proceed to plague him as soon as he's dwelling together with his sister and serving to her promote a fundraiser on the native hospital.
His upbeat demeanor by no means wavers — even when issues like getting poked within the eye by a Christmas tree lands him within the hospital. That character trait is balanced out by Dr. Hope Newberry (Sustad), who is “slightly jaded” when she reunites with Ted after realizing one another in highschool.
“I believe generally folks … that put on their coronary heart on their sleeves are simply that good, however they're [also] onerous to belief. So it's virtually the alternative,” Sustad, 38, defined of her character's hesitation to embrace Ted's bubbly character. “You go this, ‘This could't be actual, proper?'”

She famous, “When any person kind of meets all of the belongings you [think you want you] go, ‘When's the opposite shoe going to drop? How am I going to get damage on this?'”

Not like many main males, Ted is the “complete reverse.” Buckley joked, “This man has no filter, you understand, [his] coronary heart is correct on his sleeve.”
The actor added that “to a big extent” that's how he “operates in life,” in order that made it simpler to play.
Though Buckley was excited to focus on Ted's enthusiasm for all times — and his means to bounce again it doesn't matter what the vacation mishap — he teased that Hope's perspective isn't a nasty one both.
“The truth that she's asking questions and type of probing is an efficient signal,” Buckley stated of Hope's story arc, which shines a lightweight on components of Ted he hasn't checked out in years. “As a result of it's an indicator that she truly sees some potential in him, and he or she's simply being good. She's like, ‘All proper, there would possibly truly be a future right here. So I'm going to do my due diligence, and never simply hope.'”
