Former BYU quarterback Jake Retzlaff broke his silence on Friday relating to his resolution to go away the college after reportedly being set to face a seven-game suspension for violating the college's honor code.
Retzlaff, who was dealing with disturbing rape allegations and admitted in courtroom to having had premarital intercourse, just isn't anticipated to alter colleges by way of the switch portal, according to an ESPN.
As an alternative, the 22-year-old is unenrolling from the college and plans to enroll at a brand new faculty.

“After a variety of prayer, reflection, and conversations with these I belief, I've made the troublesome resolution to formally withdraw from BYU and step away from the BYU Soccer program,” Retzlaff posted to Instagram on Friday.
“BYU has meant extra to me than simply soccer,” Retzlaff added. “It's been a spot of development — spiritually, mentally and bodily. I'm grateful for each teammate, workers member and fan who's supported me alongside the best way. The relationships I've made in Provo will at all times be a part of me.”
Retzlaff's suspension materialized within the wake of a lawsuit that alleged Retzlaff raped, strangled and bit a lady throughout a November 2023 incident at his Provo, Utah dwelling.
The lawsuit was dismissed on June 30, with the 2 sides submitting a joint movement for dismissal, in keeping with the Salt Lake Tribune.

On Friday, BYU launched a press release that stated: “We're grateful for the time Jake Retzlaff has spent at BYU. As he strikes ahead, BYU Athletics understands and respects Jake's resolution to withdraw from BYU, and we want him all the most effective as he enters the subsequent part of his profession.”
Retzlaff led the Cougars to an 11-2 season in 2024, throwing for two,947 yards and 20 touchdowns.
“I'm excited to show the web page and embrace this subsequent chapter,” Retzlaff stated. “My journey is way from over — and I'm extra motivated than ever to maintain chasing my goals.”
