NEW DELHI: An IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Srinagar made an emergency touchdown at Lal Bahadur Shastri Worldwide Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, after a gasoline leak was detected, information company IANS reported. All 166 passengers and crew members have been safely evacuated, and no accidents have been reported. Authorities confirmed that the state of affairs is beneath management, and regular airport operations have resumed.
LBSI Airport Director Puneet Gupta informed TOI, “The pilot of IndiGo Airways flight quantity 6961, heading to Srinagar from Kolkata, observed some gasoline leak after which he instantly contacted Air Site visitors Management (ATC) Varanasi and requested precedence touchdown.”After receiving clearance, the plane landed safely on the runway at round 4:10 pm. Officers mentioned the involved airways are taking the required motion.After the flight carrying 166 passengers landed, the technical workforce inspected the plane for essential repairs.
