The federal government on Wednesday stated exports of non-basmati rice will likely be permitted solely after registration with the commerce ministry's arm APEDA.
The Agricultural and Processed Meals Merchandise Export Improvement Authority (APEDA) is an arm of the commerce ministry that offers with agri exports-related points.
“Export coverage of Non-Basmati Rice has been amended by incorporating a further coverage situation to the extent that export of Non-Basmati Rice shall be permitted solely upon registration of contracts with the APEDA,” the Directorate Basic of Overseas Commerce (DGFT) stated in a notification.
