Longtime Cardinals left deal with Luis Sharpe, a three-time Professional Bowl choice, has died. He was 65.
Sharpe performed all 13 of his NFL seasons with the franchise in St. Louis (1982-87) and Arizona (1988-94).
Sharpe's widow, Tameka Williams-Sharpe, shared the information of his passing Saturday on social media.
“With deep sorrow and abiding love, I share that my beloved husband, Luis Sharpe, has handed away,” she wrote, per The Arizona Republic. “His energy, love, and religion had been a light-weight to all who knew him. I'm grateful for each second we shared and for the various prayers and kindnesses prolonged to our household.
“Although my coronary heart is heavy, I belief that Luis is now resting in God's everlasting peace. Please proceed to maintain our household lifted in prayer.”
Born in Havana, Sharpe grew up in Detroit and have become a first-round draft decide (sixteenth total) in 1982 out of UCLA.
He began all 189 of his regular-season video games with the Cardinals and made the Professional Bowl in 1987, 1988 and 1989.
