New Delhi: In a transfer that will assist enhance India's seafood exports to the European Union by 20%, the bloc has authorized 102 extra marine product models from India. The approvals make them eligible to be provided to the EU, the nation's second-largest seafood export vacation spot after the US, an official mentioned on Tuesday.
With this, a complete of 604 Indian marine product models have been listed by the EU.
The event comes at a time when India is diversifying its shrimp exports, which have been hit arduous by a steep 50% tariffs imposed by the US.
“This can assist enhance India's seafood exports to the EU. It's anticipated to assist enhance our seafood exports by about 20%,” the official mentioned, including that the itemizing of those models was a long-pending demand of India.
India's shrimp exports in 2024-25 totalled $4.88 billion, accounting for 66% of the full seafood exports.
