An earthquake of magnitude 6.07 jolted Andaman Islands, as per data by the German Analysis Centre for Geosciences, GFZ. The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km (6 miles), GFZ mentioned.
Nonetheless, the Nationwide Middle for Seismology reported that the magnitude of earthquake which struck Andaman Sea at 12:06 IST was 5.4 with a depth of 90 km.
