Earlier on Tuesday, Jaishankar met his counterparts from Netherlands and Denmark (present EU Presidency). “Appreciated the assembly with FM David van Weel of the Netherlands this night in New York. An insightful dialog on European strategic positioning and India's method,” the minister wrote on X. “Appreciated the dialog with FM @larsloekke of Denmark this night in New York. Valued his insights on newest developments in Europe and the Ukraine battle. Additionally mentioned our bilateral ties and India-EU cooperation below the Danish Presidency,” Jaishankar wrote on X following their assembly.
In the meantime, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned that Washington hopes to “repair” tensions with India over sanctions linked to Russian oil imports. Talking on the sidelines of the UNGA on Tuesday, Rubio drew a distinction between India's purchases and Europe's continued dependence on Russian power.
