The heavy rainfall resulted in a number of outlets and eating places being broken. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami mentioned that police and SDRF had been on the spot and are engaged in rescue and reduction operations.
“Unhappy information has been acquired that some outlets had been broken resulting from heavy rain at evening in Sahastradhara, Dehradun. The administration, SDRF, and police are on the scene, engaged in reduction and rescue operations. On this regard, I'm in fixed contact with the native administration and personally monitoring the state of affairs. I pray to God for everybody's security,” Dhami mentioned in a submit on X.
Meanwhile, the Chandrabhaga river in Rishikesh also overflowed due to heavy rainfall. The water flowed on to the highway, trapping several vehicles. The SDRF said that it rescued three people who were stranded in the river.
“Due to heavy rainfall, water level of the Chandhaga River rose, causing water to flood up to the highway and trapping several vehicles. During this, 03 people were stranded in the middle of the river, whom the SDRF team promptly rescued and safely brought to a secure location,” SDRF Uttarakhand Police mentioned on X.
