The Union Agriculture Ministry has revised the rules for the scheme, increasing the “different innovations” part.
Now, states and Union territories can plan micro-level water administration actions, resembling diggi building and water harvesting systems-based on native wants, the ministry stated in an announcement.
These methods may be developed for particular person farmers in addition to neighborhood use, guaranteeing sustainable water availability for micro-irrigation.
Earlier, funds for such actions have been restricted to twenty per cent of the full allocation for every state/UT and 40 per cent for northeastern states, Himalayan states, and UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
“Now, states/UTs have been given higher flexibility to exceed these limits as per their particular necessities,” the ministry stated.These initiatives purpose to assist farmers undertake micro-irrigation, enhance water-use effectivity, and in the end enhance productiveness and revenue, it added.
