Body street guidelines for pedestrians, non-motorised autos: SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court docket Tuesday directed all states UTs to border guidelines on street security by regulating the motion of pedestrians and non-motorised autos comparable to cycles, and by monitoring building and upkeep of roads. A division bench of justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan directed states and UTs to border such guidelines inside six months below related provisions of the Motor Automobiles (MV) Act, 1988.

Part 138(1A) of the Act empowers states to make street security guidelines to manage motion of non-mechanically propelled autos and pedestrians in public locations.
