Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X, “The Govt of Assam has submitted a proper request to the ministry of dwelling affairs to invoke the Mutual Authorized Help Treaty (MLAT) with Singapore in reference to the unlucky demise of our beloved Zubeen. As soon as invoked, it will guarantee full cooperation from Singaporean authorities—giving us entry to case particulars and help to carry again the accused and safe justice”.
On Saturday night, Zubeen Garg's household filed a grievance with the Assam police in search of a radical probe into the circumstances resulting in Zubeen's demise in Singapore. The e-mail grievance signed by Zubeen's spouse Garima, his sister Palmi Borthakur and his uncle Manoj Borthakur named Shyamkanu Mahanta and Zubeen's supervisor Siddharth Sharma as the principle accused and needed to carry everybody, who have been with Zubeen on that fateful day, inside the ambit of the probe.
Following the grievance, the CID workforce probing Zubeen's demise visited the deceased singer's home and recorded the assertion of the relations.
A number of FIRs have been registered in opposition to Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma in several police stations throughout Assam alleging negligence on their half which led to Zubeen's demise.
Whereas Mahanta was the organiser of the Northeast pageant in Singapore, Sharma was Garg's supervisor. The demise certificates issued by the Singapore authorities had acknowledged “drowning” as the reason for his demise.
