The AFSPA prolonged to 9 districts in Nagaland and 21 police station areas in 5 different districts of the state for six months, in line with a notification issued by the Union dwelling ministry.
The federal government in a notification acknowledged, “Whereas the Central Authorities in train of the powers conferred by Part 3 of the Armed Forces (Particular Powers) Act, 1958 (28 of 1958) had declared the Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts in Arunachal Pradesh and the areas falling throughout the jurisdiction of Namsai, Mahadevpur and Chowkham police stations in Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh, bordering the State of Assam as ‘disturbed space' with impact from 01.04.2025.”
The notification added, “And whereas an extra evaluate of the law-and-order scenario within the state of Arunachal Pradesh has been undertaken.
